This is a career defining opportunity to join one of the most exciting and ambitious UK Higher Education fundraising and volunteering campaigns.

With deep roots in their local community as well as the University of Birmingham’s global reach, their students, alumni, academics and staff have continually pushed forward the boundaries of knowledge, broken new ground, and made a positive impact on people’s lives.

Do you want to work with a group of passionate, creative and dynamic individuals who are committed to supporting each other and the communities they serve?

In 2019 the University of Birmingham launched the ambitious Birmingham In Action campaign, which commits to raising over £400million of charitable funding and achieving one million volunteer hours, positioning the University as one of the world leaders in university development.  They are now at the midpoint of this sector-leading campaign, and have secured significant support and investment into the team.  In this first phase of their recruitment plans, they are looking for 5 talented fundraisers and an experienced prospect research specialist to join their dynamic and ambitious team.

As Charitable Funding Partner (2 positions available) (Grade 8) you will work closely with leading academics and senior leadership to identify and design new funding opportunities to engage UK and overseas trusts, foundations and charities, with the aim of developing long-term partnerships.  As an experienced fundraiser this is your a chance to secure major and principal-level gifts, taking a relationship-led approach to building long-term connections with supporters globally.  Your track record of securing 6-figure gifts or more from trusts and foundations will be key to success in this role, as will your ability to translate and present complex information into compelling proposals and asks.

In return, you’ll get to work with a group of passionate, creative and dynamic individuals who are committed to supporting each other and the communities they serve.  If you are attracted by the scale of the University of Birmingham’s ambition, the excellence of their campaign and the opportunity to play a big part in making their plans a reality, we’d like to hear from you.

In order for us to process your application we require a CV and cover letter.  Please refer to the Information Pack which is available to download at the top of this page.
