There are 2 positions available – a 12-month maternity cover contract and a permanent role.

With deep roots in their local community as well as the University of Birmingham’s global reach, their students, alumni, academics and staff have continually pushed forward the boundaries of knowledge, broken new ground, and made a positive impact on people’s lives.

These are career defining opportunities to join one of the most exciting and ambitious UK Higher Education fundraising and volunteering campaigns.

In 2019 the University of Birmingham launched the ambitious Birmingham In Action campaign, which commits to raising over £600 million of charitable funding and achieving 1.25 million volunteer hours, positioning the University as one of the world leaders in university development.  They are now at the midpoint of this sector-leading campaign, and have secured significant support and investment into the team to enable them to achieve even more.

As Charitable Funding Partner (2 positions available) (Grade 8) you will work closely with leading academics and senior leadership to identify and design new funding opportunities to engage UK and overseas trusts, foundations and charities, with the aim of developing long-term partnerships.  As an experienced fundraiser this is your a chance to secure major and principal-level gifts, taking a relationship-led approach to building long-term connections with supporters globally.  Your track record of securing significant philanthropic gifts from trusts and foundations will be key to success in this role, as will your ability to translate and present complex information into compelling proposals and asks.

In return, you’ll get to work with a group of passionate, creative and dynamic individuals who are committed to supporting each other and the communities they serve.  If you are attracted by the scale of the University of Birmingham’s ambition, the excellence of their campaign and the opportunity to play a big part in making their plans a reality, we’d like to hear from you.

Your application should be in the form of a CV and cover letter.  Please refer to the Information Pack which is available to download at the top of this page.
