Reporting to the CEO and a key member of the senior leadership team, the Head of Philanthropy will work at both the strategic and operational level to ensure that all philanthropic fundraising activities are aligned with the Institutes’ broader strategic plan.  Leading a small team of two, you will design and execute the philanthropic fundraising strategy for the Institute You will have experience in Major Gifts, Trusts and Foundation and Gift in Will portfolios. You will have high self-awareness with advanced communication, interpersonal and engagement skills. In particular, you will have experience and success in attracting larger gifts and donations. You will be an outstanding communicator and influencer, with expertise in preparing and confidently presenting detailed proposals and opportunities.

The successful candidate will bring a proven track record in all aspects of fundraising, particularly major gifts from individuals, trusts and foundations, corporates and gifts in wills.  A strong communicator and influencer, you will have the gravitas to work with internal and external senior stakeholders as well as the proven ability to lead and motivate a team.  A deep interest in science and an appreciation for the work of the Bionics Institute is essential. Experience working in health/medical/science environment is highly desirable.
