Fundraising plays a key role in the Trust’s work and the Fundraising Team has been mandated to create a step-change in this area.
As Europe’s biggest conservation organisation, the National Trust’s purpose is to care for nature, beauty and history for everyone, ensuring as many people as possible can enjoy and benefit from their places and spaces, not just now, but for generations to come.

Engaging supporters in understanding why it’s important to protect the special places the Trust looks after and how they can help, ensures that these remain accessible for people of all ages and backgrounds, and forever.
The National Trust is therefore seeking a new Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships to lead their High Value Relationships Team and champion the culture change they are embedding to create a more fundraising friendly organisation. This could be your opportunity to help the Trust deliver exciting campaigns at scale and achieve greater balance and diversity in their income streams.
Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Fundraising, you will use your experience of delivering high value income generation activities to implement a growth plan to transform the outcomes of the Trust’s work across government grants, philanthropy and corporate relationships. You will bring demonstrable experience of working across organisations to develop compelling funding proposals, as well as securing gifts at the 7-figure level or more, ideally gained with high net worth individuals or corporates. You get the best out of the people you manage through empowering and motivating them, and are regarded as a credible and valued colleague among your peers. It will take a special someone to help the Trust reach the next stage of their fundraising evolution. If you believe this could be you, we’d love to hear from you.
The National Trust has a reputation for investing in their people and in return for your commitment and enthusiasm, they will give you the experience and professional development you need to further your career. The Trust appreciates that work/life balance is important and will consider flexible working arrangements.
In order for us to process your application we require a CV and cover letter. Please refer to the Information Pack which is available to download at the top of this page.
