With offices in more than two dozen countries and a worldwide network of thousands of partners, Conservation International's reach is truly global.
People need nature — and for over 30 years, Conservation International has worked to protect it. Through their cutting-edge science, innovative policy and global reach, they work to protect the nature that we rely on for food, fresh water and livelihoods.
Conservation International is embarking on a significant campaign with a goal is to secure philanthropic support for key initiatives in their work across natural climate solutions, ocean conservation, sustainable economies, and innovations.
In order for CI to reach a broader base of supporters to match their initiatives, they have invested to create a new role for a Senior Director, Development to represent them in the UK and across Europe. This provides a unique opportunity to engage with existing and future donors in CI’s mission and ambitions while building a robust fundraising programme in a new territory.
You will be responsible for developing strategies and relationships to cultivate and steward donors, and enjoy working independently while knowing that you have the support of colleagues in London, Europe and the US to ensure your fundraising success. As a strategic operator with an entrepreneurial approach to your work, you will bring experience of securing major gifts at the 6-figure level or more, ideally within an international context.
A passion for the cause will drive you as you establish close working relationships with active senior volunteers and Board members to enable the successful delivery of fundraising initiatives and drive opportunities forward. This alongside your development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy for donors and prospects will allow you to raise awareness of CI’s mission and broaden its funding base in the UK.
With offices in more than two dozen countries and a worldwide network of thousands of partners, their reach is truly global. Fundraising plays a key role in CI’s work, and their international fundraising team raises c.US$180M pa each year. This is your chance to join them and have a significant impact on CI’s work across the UK and Europe. If you understand the critical importance of conservation work at this time, and thrive on working with passionate colleagues and supporters towards shared goals, we would love to hear from you.
