This is a career defining opportunity to join one of the most exciting and ambitious UK Higher Education fundraising and volunteering campaigns.

With deep roots in their local community as well as the University of Birmingham’s global reach, their students, alumni, academics and staff have continually pushed forward the boundaries of knowledge, broken new ground, and made a positive impact on people’s lives.

Do you want to work with a group of passionate, creative and dynamic individuals who are committed to supporting each other and the communities they serve?

In 2019 the University of Birmingham launched the ambitious Birmingham In Action campaign, which commits to raising over £400million of charitable funding and achieving one million volunteer hours, positioning the University as one of the world leaders in university development.  They are now at the midpoint of this sector-leading campaign, and have secured significant support and investment into the team.  In this first phase of their recruitment plans, they are looking for 5 talented fundraisers and an experienced prospect research specialist to join their dynamic and ambitious team.

As Prospect Research Manager (Grade 7) you will play a key role in delivering and managing prospect research and support our philanthropic due diligence processes which underpin the success of the major and principal gift fundraisers’ activities globally.  Underpinning your success in this role is your specialist prospect research background, which has been developed in an excellent development operation, and has supported fundraisers to be more effective in the management and development of their portfolios.  Experience of conducting successful due diligence processes, and assessing, evaluating and reporting on risk, will be key in this role.

If you are attracted by the scale of the University of Birmingham’s ambition, the excellence of their campaign and the opportunity to play a big part in making their plans a reality, we’d like to hear from you.

In order for us to process your application we require a CV and cover letter.  Please refer to the Information Pack which is available to download at the top of this page.
