The University has achieved unprecedented philanthropic success through its Believe: The Campaign for the University of Melbourne which came to a conclusion at the end of 2021 and raised more than $1.17b in support of its strategic aspirations.

The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS) played a key role in securing a significant proportion of this income, culminating in its most recent philanthropic success with a $250m gift to establish the Cumming Global Centre for Pandemic Therapeutics.

The MDHS team now seeks a Project Manager, Principal and Major Gifts who will be responsible for leading and delivering multi-faceted fundraising projects, influencing the capacity of MDHS Advancement to continue to deliver transformational gifts ($5 million +) and realising the vision of strategic initiatives where philanthropy can play a critical enabling role.

The successful candidate will demonstrate extensive experience in working on complex project development and implementation involving the co-ordination of multiple internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority. Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to navigate complex partnerships and internal systems and processes will be key. A knowledge of philanthropic fundraising and/or a familiarity with the higher education/health sectors will also be beneficial.
