Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is a global
resource for plant science and conservation and the world’s leading botanic
garden. We work across our sites in Kew
and Wakehurst, and in countries around the world with global partners. Our purpose is to safeguard the diversity of
the Earth’s ecosystems by understanding and protecting the world’s plant
life. We want a world where plants and
fungi are understood, valued, and conserved – because all our lives and
livelihoods depend on them.

contributing to global knowledge of plant life on our planet. We have the world’s largest and most diverse
collection of plants, and the world’s largest fungarium. To tackle the urgent and immediate global
threats, we need to expand and protect our collections, and make them fully
accessible for scientific research.
