Head of Development

Location. Oxford, UK

Salary. Competitive Salary and Benefits

Closing Date. Tuesday 2nd October

Founded almost 700 years ago in 1326 by King Edward II, today Oriel College continues to sit at the heart of a world-leading, 21st century University of Oxford.  At its core, Oriel is a hub of intellectual activity; seeking to educate exceptional undergraduate and graduate students through the dissemination of ideas, and the pioneering research and teaching of its academics. Oriel students benefit from many sporting, musical and social opportunities that enable them to develop talent beyond their studies. The rich College experience they receive prepares them for successful lives, wherever their ambitions take them.

As it approaches its eighth century, Oriel is committed to maintaining and building on the global excellence in education and research that it has achieved so far. To achieve this ambition, the College is significantly investing in their development and alumni engagement activity and team, and have created three new and exceptional roles.

The Head of Development will take strategic and operational responsibility for fundraising within the UK across all giving levels and programmes up to major gifts arena, and manage a team of high-performing fundraisers. Key to your success in this role will be your track record of securing philanthropic gifts at the 6-figure level or more, as well as your ability to influence to motivate and lead others.  Your credibility, pragmatism and resilience, and ability to show good judgement when working with key stakeholders, will inspire those around you.

If you have a track record of senior-level fundraising and a demonstrable understanding of the importance of philanthropy for higher education, we’d like to hear from you.

Oriel is a welcoming academic community in the heart of Oxford, a place of study and learning for nearly 700 years. Located in Oriel Square, the college has the distinction of being the oldest royal foundation in Oxford.
