Kirsten Howie appointed to Director of Development and Alumni Relations role at University of Stirling

by | 29 Aug 2024

Warm congratulations to Kirsten Howie on her appointment as the University of Stirling‘s new Director of Development and Alumni Relations!

Kirsten’s fundraising career started as a student caller at her alma mater, where she quickly learned that there are many different ways to say “no”. Spurred on by this resilience-building experience, she developed her major donor engagement skills in organisations working with people with learning disabilities, and then moved into the arts sector to join Scottish Opera as their Director of Fundraising. Over the last 11 years, she has led a team and engaged philanthropic support for Scottish Opera’s work, enriching lives and communities both on and off-stage. Alongside this, Kirsten plays an active role in Scotland’s wider charitable sector as a Board Member of the Office of the Scottish Charities Register. She looks forward to moving into the higher education sector as the University of Stirling embarks on their new strategic vision and plan to 2030.

We wish Kirsten all the very best in her new role!
