Warm congratulations to Laura Hughes-Onslow on her appointment to the UCL Advancement team as their new Associate Director of Donor Experience!
Laura brings over a decade’s worth of third sector experience spanning fundraising and grant-making roles, most recently leading on fundraising at the Mayor’s Fund for London and donor relations at The Sutton Trust. Her career has focused on building partnerships to address educational and wider inequalities, working with individuals, companies, non-profit organisations and foundations to make the most of their respective resources and expertise to drive social change. Laura has also recently joined the Board of Spectris Foundation to champion equal opportunities into Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematic (STEM) education and careers.
In this new role, Laura will be leading on an insights and data-led donor experience strategy, to engage stakeholders across UCL with the transformational impact of philanthropic giving. She is excited to head up a fantastic team to engage with UCL’s community of donors and supporters, delivering gold-standard events, campus tours, connections with world-leading academics and gift reporting.
She says: “I am excited to have joined UCL’s Advancement team at a pivotal time, with the upcoming bicentennial campaign setting out new ambitions for fundraising and engagement across the higher education sector. I look forward to working with colleagues to showcase the real-world difference that this will make, responding to some of our most pressing challenges across health, the environment and society.”
We wish Laura all the very best in this new role!
